Unwanted Belly Fat-How To Lose It For Good

If you are trying to get rid of belly fat, you might be confused and have no idea how or where to start. The hardest part of an exercise program is the beginning. When it comes to losing belly fat quickly, the first thing you have to understand whether you are a man or woman is that diet and exercising will help.

Protein is actually the main ingredient for muscle growth. If you are not eating sufficient protein, even if you are working out extensively, you will not develop any muscles. It is strongly recommended that you eat at least a gram of protein for every pound of body weight.

Make wise food choices, especially your carbohydrates. In general, most whole grains, fruits and vegetables will have the lowest rank on the glycemic index. The foods with high ranking include sugars, food from white flour and grains and virtually all kinds of processed food.

Now, let’s look at the number one enemy when it comes to losing fat and belly fat in general. Sugar, yes this is the main reason why you cannot lose weight. The sugar carbohydrates will be the real enemy. Whole wheat bread, bran muffins, orange juice and other things that should be healthy and lower in fat aren’t always healthy. These products will change into sugar as soon as they hit your belly and this is when your problems start.

Fats must be avoided when you are trying to lose belly fat. They are higher in calories and will promote excess weight. There are actually 9 calories in a gram of fat, when compared to 4 calories in a gram of protein.

Eat smaller meal portions more frequently. Try to eat 5 or 6 smaller meal portions during the day to help avoid blood sugar shifts. In every meal have a protein source like poultry, lean meat, seafood, beans or eggs; a vegetable or fruit; a whole grain and a healthy fat in small amount such as coconuts, avocados, walnuts, peanuts, pecans, olive oil, almonds, fish oil or flax oil. When you have balanced meals it will be much easier for you to satisfy your nutritional requirements.

Another enemy for belly fat is the processed foods because they consist of harmful chemical substances and sugar. Try not to eat artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.

Start a regular exercise program which includes at least 30 minutes of walking before breakfast. Stay active throughout the day by using the stairs; gardening; cleaning; standing when you are using the phone; stretching often and sit up instead of lounging while you are watching television. All of these activities will help you to burn fat during the day.
